Construction Travel Impacts
Active Sidewalk Closure: NE Oregon St
Purpose: I-5 Rose Quarter seismic retrofitting work
Where: North sidewalk along NE Oregon St near Oregon Convention Center
Closure Details: From Thursday 11/20 to Wednesday 11/26, the north sidewalk along NE Oregon St will be closed for construction on weekdays only between Thursday 11/20 and Wednesday 11/26 from 7am to 5pm. The south sidewalk will be open for pedestrian access.
Travelers can expect:
- Phase 1A Local Road & Ramp Closures
- I-5 Stormwater Single Lane Closures
- I-5 Merge Lane and Bridge Work
- Temporary sidewalk and lane closures on local streets near the Oregon Convention Center, including NE Oregon Street and N Interstate Ave, for seismic upgrades and sign structure work.
- Occasional closures of the I-84 westbound off-ramp to Moda Center and the Oregon Convention Center for sign structure work.
- Temporary sidewalk and lane closures on NE Lloyd Blvd for seismic upgrades.
- Occasional nighttime lane closures and possible shoulder closures on I-5 to construct stormwater facilities.
- More traffic impacts are expected in 2026 when bridge preservation, merge lane extension, and sign structure installation work begins.
