Construction Travel Impacts

Impacts to the travelling public from project construction for the remainder of 2025 include:

• Temporary sidewalk and lane closures on local streets near the Oregon Convention Center, including NE Oregon Street and N Interstate Ave, for seismic upgrades and sign structure work.
• Occasional closures of the I-84 off-ramp to Moda Center and the Oregon Convention Center for sign structure work.
• Occasional nighttime lane closures and possible shoulder closures on I-5 to construct stormwater facilities. 

More traffic impacts are expected in 2026 when bridge preservation, merge lane extension, and sign structure installation work begin. For more details, view the Phase 1A Construction Fact Sheet.
