Hancock-Dixon Crossing

To enhance connections and access between the west and east sides of I-5, the project includes a new highway overcrossing connecting N Hancock Street to N Dixon Street. The overcrossing will provide another option for getting over the highway, improving travel and access. With a more effective connection here, the N Flint Avenue bridge will be removed over I-5.

Under current conditions, all travelers moving on Flint over I-5 must go through the congested Broadway and Weidler intersections to get to the Rose Quarter or the Broadway Bridge.

With the new overcrossing, the project will add a new road and bicycle and pedestrian facilities to create more travel options and allow drivers or people walking and biking to avoid the busy Broadway-Weidler interchange area. Traffic mitigation measures will be incorporated on the Hancock-Dixon Crossing to discourage cut-through traffic in the neighborhood.
